Lets try something – I say “General Information” and you say the first thing that pops in your head. Ok, what popped in your head? I am guessing something without a real specific subject, right? Well, that is how research starts for most subjects. If you were looking for some information that was between 5 or 10 decades ago where would you possibly start looking? The library maybe?

After all, the library has a lot of books and should be able to help you. I really like the aroma of the books that are from a long time ago, I like ti imagine going back to that time when I read the books.

But if you are very serious about finding information then you should start by digging into the internet. The net has more information then we could read in 100 lifetimes. It is vast and wide and very intimidating to say the least. But where would you start? You could look at the government websites and maybe a wiki site or two and also the tons of other search engines that are all over the web.

I should first ask you though have you even considered what you are hoping to discover in your research? What about the type of delivered media your trying to locate? There are PDF’s, Doc’s, Spreadsheet’s, Power Point Presentation’s, Audio’s, Video’s, Map’s and so many more which are all on the subject your looking for.

So, it really comes down to the nitty gritty and that is you need to put a plan of action in place. Figure out what format exactly do you want your data in. You also need to kinda know what you plan on doing with that data once you obtain it.

I know this all sounds a bit overwhelming but research can be at times. That is why I started this out by talking about general information. People start out just looking for general information and then eventually drill it down to the point of something very specific, a niche if you will.

Now, once you have drilled down to this very specific Niche such as “how to feed a purple goldfish on the weekend” you will then know it is a niche and you are doing your work correctly.

I know this since I have been a professional researcher for the last 15 years. I have researched just about each and everything you can think of and I am quite good at getting results. So, the above information should help you prepare to find the correct information with a plan instead of just going from site to site without a plan will just goggle up all of your time.

When people talk about traffic, they often don’t know the line between mere hits and visits that actually do the blog good. Hits will only mean the number of times that a user seeks information on a site. Remember that keywords are always crucial when you want traffic. In fact, looking closely into them allows you to look into what your readers actually want from you and what drives them. If you suspect that you might be having problems around this part, you certainly have to look closer and pinpoint what’s wrong. Otherwise, you could be pouring your efforts down the drain.

You can also look into which of your posts have gotten the most visits and comments. From there, you would know what approaches to your topics work best and you can try to use them more often for your future posts. For example, if you noticed that you did very well on posts where you added a lot of pictures, take that cue. Make it a point to have pictures on each of your posts. Just make sure these images are appropriate for the topic or they could easily backfire on you.

There are other behavior patterns you can observe while studying your traffic. However, they will all work to highlight the good things you’ve been doing so you can reinforce them and the bad so you could change or improve them. When you blog to express yourself, you?re obviously not obligated to anyone but you. But when you’re blogging to make money, you actually owe your readers your full commitment. After all, how can you expect to make money with blog posts that are inconsistent? Your readers need to know that you’ll always be there or they just won’t find the point in following you.
